They could not have been more helpful. They came out of the office, on to the street, to make sure we found the place, since Google does not list a street number. Pleasant and welcoming, it was a great change from the impersonal and sterile car rental companies I am used to. Well done, Clermont Ferrand Europcar, you have restored my faith in humanity!

30 min wait to collect car in Clermont Ferrand. Can’t understand why the process takes so long given that all information is already provided online state of car was clean but you need to provide better maintained vehicles. 1/ Battery in key ran out. I had to buy my own battery to replace it. No one offered me my money back when I returned the car. 2/ car flashed low battery warning lights during the trip. 3/ front impact warning senses fault kept going off erroneously 4/ windscreen wipers old and failing. Made a lot of noise and didn’t remove rain water properly. 5/ balance of car wheels not good. Lots of vibration at speeds over 100kmh. finally, your Europcar app is terrible. I couldn’t amend my booking online. And links to FAQ kept referring me to a site called Europcar.en - a domain that doesn’t even seem to exist. Overall, it feels like Europcar has had a massive fall in quality.

Excellent experience while picking-up the car in Clermont, really nice personal (Kamla if I remember well). Great car. However, while giving it back in Lille, unforecasted surcharge called "1 way" ending at 45euros, although both places were clearly identified from the beginning (very unpleasant). Especially, total price was again confirmed while picking-up the car, without this surcharge.
