Europcar Antibes

Very bad experience with Europcar office in Antibes. Rented a van, next day came to the office, the van is not available, but two vans of my category are outside the building. They asked almost double price for the same van basically and after speaking to the manager got a bit lower price but still more expensive than my booking. Took the van and in few hours received automatic message from Europcar that the van is available for my booked price (but after my requested time). Furthermore the deposit was 800€, not 500€ like it was on the booking booklet. The online bookings and guys at the desk are not synchronised and generally felt like I've been scammed. Very unpleasant experience and service. Do not recommend.

I rented car in Antibes. I booked online but car class i booked was not available due to which agent was asking me to upgrade class and pay more. After repeated denying, he adjusted price for little higher car. May be due to agent not speaking english well. While booking online deposit was said 300€ but at site they asked 500€. There was damage under hood in front side bumper of car which was very difficult to notice while taking but at return agent find it. But after discussion we managed to settle down and manager was cooperative to understand it.

Superb rental experience. Was offered a complimentary upgrade not once, but twice during my stay. Agent named Kevin was particularly helpful and a consummate professional. Would definitely use again if back in Antibes or Cap d’Antibes. All cars or vans on offer were new or virtually new and maintained beautifully.

Fabienne at Antibes was very helpful when our own car had a problem and Porsche Assistance was very slow to help. Fabienne was sympathetic to our needs and sorted alternative hire for us. Thank you.

Reserved a car online, waited 40 min to check-in in person only to be told that I’m blacklisted for not paying a fine from 3 years ago. I explained that not only had I paid the fine the very same week to the police, I had also contacted europcar by phone and emailed them a copy of my payment. 4 months later I receive 2 bills from a collection agency claiming I never paid the admin fees for the fine, even though the fine had been paid. I end up paying 90 euro to this collection agency and 3 years later they haven’t updated their system to remove me from the blacklist. Not only that but why would I be sent to a collection agency without being told about an admin fee? Considering I paid the fine directly to the police, I doubt they had administrative work to do on their end. The lady at the counter then tells me she can’t do anything because the help desk is closed so she can’t confirm I paid and they can’t rent me a car. I needed the car for my dad’s funeral so I could follow the hearse to the crematorium. Lady didn’t care to help one bit even though the error was entirely on them for not updating their system and letting me reserve a car in the 1st place.
